The hirewesternuAbility Accessible Employment Forum is free for all participating organizations.

Join us to hear from our Special Guest and Keynote Speaker: Chief Accessibility Officer of Canada, Stephanie Cadieux.

Following the keynote, a Q&A will be facilitated by Dr. Opiyo Oloya, Associate Vice-President of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.

Program

Our Accessible Employment Evening will be divided into 3 parts.

1.0 Opening remarks and Keynote Speaker (Hybrid)

Opening remarks: 5:30 - 5:40 p.m.

Keynote Speaker: 5:40 - 6:15 p.m.

2.0 Employer and Community Organization Panel on Accessible Employment (6:20 – 7:00 p.m., Hybrid)

Our Employer and Community Organizations Panel will be available to answer questions about accessible employment and best practices for accessible recruitment, onboarding and retention.

Questions for our panel-speakers can be submitted in advance on the registration form or to Emily Branov (ebranov@uwo.ca) a minimum of one week before the event. We encourage you to submit any thoughts or ideas you may have about our suggested or other topics!

3.0 Networking Hour (7:00 - 8:00 p.m., in-person)

We will begin Networking Hour with introductions to employers and community organizations. Light refreshments will be available.

Our final portion of the evening will serve as an opportunity for networking between students, employers and community organizations!

This is a fantastic opportunity to discuss hiring/employment needs, accessible employment strategies and get to know each other!
